October GSR Report

The most recent district meeting was held on October 7th, 2025 at 7:30 pm, hybrid.

Some of the items discussed at the last District meeting were:

1. Review of the questions to discuss during the upcoming District 08 inventory. The inventory will be conducted during our regular district meeting on November 4, 2025.

The following events might be of interest

1. AA Technology Workshop – Hosted by District 20, Oct. 18th – Richmond, CA
2. Fall Assembly (Area 06 Inventory), Nov. 1 – Napa, CA
3. Three Legacies Conference, Nov. 8 – Pleasant Hill, CA
4. District 08 UNITY DAY – Nov. 15th – Walnut Creek, CA

We need to take a group conscience on:

1. New Area Business: Training Videos on AA Safety – this topic was presented as new business during the Summer Assembly. Check out these example training videos from Area 93. Get a group conscience whether we should get behind the proposal to bring these to the General Service Conference to be approved as AA official service material. Please see the General Service App. for the link to the youtube videos to share with your group.

The following actions have been taken in the district:

1. Housekeeping motion passed: “That District 08 Bridging the Gap Committee be reimbursed for acquiring 2,000 bookmarks to hand out to members at facilities for a total cost of $121.25.
2. Motion Passed: That District 08 purchase a reflective sign to be placed at the foot of the driveway to provide visual accessibility to the District meeting; at a cost not to exceed $300.00.

Additional notes and information

• The GSO app is now live in Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
• We have a vacancy for the District 08 Archives Chair if available please attend the next business meeting for more details.
• We are always looking for Sub-District Committee members, please join us at a monthly District meeting to make yourself available or send us an email. Currently open are 003, 004, 007, 008, 010.
• Please make sure you have the Area postal address updated, it is now 1390 N McDowell Blvd, Suite G-339, Petaluma, CA 94954.

Everyone is welcome to attend any district or Area Assembly meeting. Even though visitors don’t have a vote, they do have a voice. Please join us next month!

The next Area Committee Meeting is online and in-person on October 25, 2025, at 11:00 am.
